When you are renting a home you do not have the worry of repairs unless damage is done by you. You do not have the worry of a water and sewage bill, you also do not have the worry about home owners insurance and yearly property tax. However, you have to be extra careful of any damage that is done. You have the worry of if the place you are renting is going into forecloser and the landlord is not being honest with you and you also have the worry of dealing with a slumlord who refuses to do repairs on normal wear and tear.
When you own a home you do not have the worry of ever being invicted. You can fix your home in any way that pleases you and you have no one to answer to if you want an extra person to move in with you. However, you do have the worry of extra bills that you wouldn’t normally have when renting such as water and sewage bills, yearly property taxes and home owners insurance. You also have the responsibility to keep your yard clean and all repairs bills falls on you.
I will tell anyone who is renting and is wanting to buy to weigh out the pros and cons carefully. Think about what area you would like to buy your home. See if you are prepared to take on the responsibility of owning a home. Having your own home can be a dream come true or it can be a nightmare that should not have happened.
